Last night, i got to go to the Chicago and Earth, Wind, and Fire concert at the UMB bank pavillion. It was amazing! The EWF bassist, Dino White, is just one big ball of energy... other than that they just kicked ass. They all played together in the beginning and then EWF played a full set followed by Chicago playing another full set and then they went back on stage together and closed with songs like Shining Star, Does anybody really know what time it is, and 25 or 6 to 4. The people sitting around us on the lawn were just a trip. There was this nice old black couple sitting behind us with their friends or some relation like that, and they sang along to EVERY EWF song and it was like the songs were in stereo. The couple also let us use their bioculars and they danced along to some of the songs like it was the good ole days. Then there were these two guys who were in a band together with their wives and they were talking about how they used to listen to these guys and a friend of theirs had box seats. One of the ladies was saying that she gave the person 3 seconds to name ONE Chicago or EWF song and the people with the box seats couldn't even manage that... Even I, who admittedly did not listen all that much to their music, could do that. Well, there was also these two older drunk ladies who kept getting up and dancing blocking our views and whenever the people right behind them would tell them to sit down they just would flip them the birdie and go on dancing. Finally a guy got into a fight with them and they conceided and sat down. Overall, it was a great concert and I loved it!
